Can I use cleaning formulas other than the BISSELL brand? It`s possible to use others, but we recommend against it. Our formulas contain no dyes, phosphates or optical brighteners, and will produce optimal cleaning performance when used in combination with BISSELL carpet cleaning machines.

You`ll want to use a solution that effectively breaks down dirt without damaging the fibers. Synthetic fibers can usually tolerate solutions with a pH level from 0 to 10. Natural fibers are a bit more delicate. So, clean them with solutions that are closer to the middle of the pH scale.

Laundry Detergents aren`t Formulated for Carpet Cleaning
Of course not! Cleaning solutions are specifically formulated to clean and not damage the machines they`re used in and the material they`re treating. Laundry soap is designed to be used in washing machines to clean clothing.
A: Yes it can be used as a vacuum without water.
On page 3 of the User`s Guide it plainly states: “Never put descaling , aromatic, alcoholic or detergent products into the steam cleaner, as this may damage it or make it unsafe for use.” White vinegar is considered a “descaling” product.
Using the marks on the inside of the formula cap, add 7 oz of BISSELL 2X formula to tank. Add water to the tank until you reach the original formula fill line. The next time you fill your tank, use the new fill lines instead of measuring the formula. For more help, download a template.

Make a cleaning solution of 1-2 teaspoons Figgy & Co. Home cleaning castile soap with 1L tap water. This is your cleaning solution to use in your Bissell. You don`t need to use more than this amount of soap.
