Remove the brushroll and clean all hair, string, and lint from the brushroll bearings. If the vacuum cleaner brush still doesn`t spin after you clean the brushroll, consider replacing the brushroll.

Kirby Sentria I bought my kirby sentria just before we were to move house and although I have the instructions somewhere, they will be boxed up and I so want to clean the carpets before I move. When I was putting my new rug shampooer together and the directions said to press the trigger and the clean surge button until I heard a snap, I did just that many times and never did hear a snap so I thought it had likely happened and I didn’t hear it so I proceeded to fill the solution tank and get busy but no solution came out so I used the clean surge button instead and got the job done (I think). Can I continue to use it that way or is there a way I can get it to snap and use it the way it

Need to change electrical cord on g5 kirby – Kirby G5 Bagged Upright Vacuum
ANSWER : This should be fairly easy to do. With the cord unplugged, take the screw out that it holding the hard plastic cord cover onto the base of the machine. This is where the cord looks like it’s going into the bottom of the machine. The next part is a bit tricky. The hard plastic piece holding the cord in can be popped out with a flat head screw driver. On each side of the cover pop the tip of the screw driver into the side and gently pull to the side. Do this on both sides of the cover and it should come right off.

Kirby sentra I got my friends kirby and was gonna use the upholstery cleaner and can’t figure it out, she has never used it and does not know where the manual is, can someone let me know how to attach it?
ANSWER : Remove the bag assembly from the machine.Install the hose to the machine.The upholstery shampooer is simply a trigger assembly with a jar attached.Simply connect the back of the trigger ***’y to the end of the hose.On the attachment case is a cloth covered cap that goes on the other end of the trigger assembly.This is what creates the foam.Fill the jar with shampoo solution.Use the trigger to deposit the foam onto surface.Work the foam into fabric using soft cloth or brush.When it’s dry,vacuum the foam and dirt out using the hose attachment on the suction side(front) of the machine

ANSWER : There are no downloadable versions of the manual. The G5 manual is out of print, but you can buy any of the G series manuals…they’re all the exact same machine.

Chatter We have a Kirby Ultimate G. Since we purchased it it bounces across the floor and the level of the sweeper has nothing to do with it. To get it to stop, it has to be at the highest level. The place we bought it, has done nothing to help us. We tried a new beater brush, no help. If I have to use it at it’s highest level to sweep my carpet, I might as well not waste my time. ANy suggestions?

.I would advise you to ALWAYS to FIRST UNPLUG YOUR VACUUM before beginning any service procedure.

.The only thing I can suggest is that the brushroll could be in backwards, as you look @ the bottom of the brushroll from the bottom plate, the head of the screws should be facing the floor on each side of the brushroll, so check the brushroll because I thing that is what is happening, what you can do is adjust the brushroll down using the screws doing a ¼ or ½ turn
.Until the brushroll stops bouncing across the floor, once you get it adjusted correctly then raise the height adjustment to the highest level and adjust downward to listen for the tone to change and then try it, it should work and if not go down one more adjustment – also change the belt every 4 to 6 months as recommended by the manufacturer. Feel free to contact a local vac dealer in your area for the brushroll height adjustment if you have problems. So if you need further assistance, please feel free to contact your local vacuum cleaner dealer in your area or in the yellow pages, or contact the factory phone number or website to further assist you with your questions.

My hoover floormate h3060 has not been used for some time, when I went to use it, it would not dispense the cleaner..The last time I used it, I used a mixture of amonia and borax. I think the hose is clogged. What should I do??
ANSWER : You most likely have either a clogged screen at the bottom of the fill tank or the jets that spray fluid are clogged. You can unscrew them and power a paper clip through them. If the hoses are by chance clogged which doesn’t happen often, Pull one off at a time and blow real hard to unclog, then put it back on, then move to next hose.
Do NOT take all of them apart at the same time or they can get mixed up and it’s a pain to figure out how it all went back together.

My kids were in charge of the Rainbow, but they moved out. My husband surprised me by cleaning a dirty rug. Neither of us know how to use the Rainbow, but I at least know that you’re supposed to use water. Will it damage my Rainbow that he did not use any water when he vacuumed?
ANSWER : Your Rainbow might have been damaged. It would be advisable to take the machine to a shop and have them do a cleaning on it. The water is the filter, and there is a separator between the water and the motor. The separator only prevents the water from entering the motor. The dirt that goes in the water is no longer airbourne, so it cannot enter. Without water, the dirt is still airbourne and some of it could have entered. I am sure that most of what was picked up landed in the basin. Is the separator(the little nut on the bottom of cleaner holds this in) full of fluff? Take off the separator nut(there should be a wrench/toothbrush tucked in under the cleaner that is used to remove separator and clean it.) Is there fluff visible up in the machine? If so, definitely take it to a shop. The separator must be cleaned after every use. Never store water in the basin. Those are the 2 main rules for care and use of your Rainbow.
