Make a cleaning solution of 1-2 teaspoons Figgy & Co. Home cleaning castile soap with 1L tap water. This is your cleaning solution to use in your Bissell. You don`t need to use more than this amount of soap.
Lift the tank straight up. Unscrew the cap. Decide if you`re cleaning hard floors or carpet, and fill with hot tap water to the appropriate water fill line. Then fill with the proper BISSELL formula to the appropriate formula fill line.
While carpet cleaners are designed to work optimally with carpet shampoos, they will also do the job with a laundry detergent. In fact, this is one of the safest substitutes you can use. Using laundry detergent in a carpet cleaner will provide you with effective results and you won`t even have to use a lot of it.
Steam Mop Tips

BISSELL steam cleaners use just tap or distilled water for a chemical-free clean.

Can I use cleaning formulas other than the BISSELL brand? It`s possible to use others, but we recommend against it. Our formulas contain no dyes, phosphates or optical brighteners, and will produce optimal cleaning performance when used in combination with BISSELL carpet cleaning machines.
You don`t have to use the Bissell solution, but it is optimized for use in their machines. This means it won`t streak, leave residue, need to be rinsed, or leave buildup in your machine.
A: Yes it can be used as a vacuum without water.
Do Steam Cleaners Use Soap or Chemicals? These appliances use only clean, cold, tap water. No chemical or detergents can, or should, be used in these systems.
Fill up with warm water.

Hot water loosens and softens dirt more quickly, making it easier to remove, and it also helps to kill bacteria. That`s why we recommend filling up your carpet cleaner`s tank with warm water.

Fill clean water tank with warm tap water. This machine uses HeatWave Technologyâ„¢ which helps maintain consistent water temperature throughout the cleaning process by redirecting the heat of the motor to help maintain the temperature of the water.
A: BISSELL ProHeat 2X models all feature a patented built-in heater which will heat the hot tap water you put in up to 25 degrees hotter to safely optimize cleaning effectiveness. The heater will never allow the temperature to exceed 190 degrees.
Carpet cleaner manufacturers recommend you deep clean your carpets at least 2 times a year. If you have children, pets, allergies or smoke, you should wash your carpets with a carpet cleaner at least 4 times a year with continuous spot cleaning in between.
On the average, it will take approximately 2-4 hours for carpet and upholstery to dry after being carpet cleaned. To expedite the drying process, you will want to use a fan and increase your air circulation.
Can I use cleaning formulas other than the BISSELL brand? BISSELL does not recommend using ANY cleaning products other than BISSELL specified products in our carpet washers.

It`s not unusual for DIY carpet cleaners to need eight or even 10 passes on a carpet before the water runs clear. This is especially true when: It has been a long time since your carpet was last deep-cleaned.
So, where does the dirt go when you steam clean? Actually, it doesn`t go anywhere. Instead, the heat and vapour of steam cleaning ensure that all the unwanted substances or stains are fully broken down and easy to get rid of.
Except when you are descaling a steam mop, do NOT put anything other than water in the tank. Not only does this defeat the primary purpose of steam cleaning (in avoiding chemical cleaners), but you can possibly damage your steam cleaner. For many steamers, you may also be voiding your warranty in the process.
Mix 1 teaspoon mild dishwashing detergent in 1 cup warm water, dip a sponge in the liquid and dab at the stain, moving from the outside toward the middle. Do not overwet. Rinse with fresh water and dry with towels.
Can you just vacuum with the Bissell CrossWave cordless Max? You can absolutely use the bissell crosswave as just a vacuum. It works well to clean messes on hard or soft surfaces by vacuuming and mopping, but it can be used as just a vacuum.
Yes, you should keep cleaning the carpet until the water is clear. This will ensure that your carpets are clean and free of dirt, dust, and other allergens. However, you should be careful not to scrub too hard or use too much water. Doing so can damage the carpet and lead to more stains in the future.

Rainbow shampooer The soap dispenser on my Rainbow is not dispensing soap when I flip the switch to ‘soap’ mode. All connections are intact. All plastic hoses are intact. What do you think is going on? The soap bottle connects to a little straw that appears to be free of obstruction, however, it connects into a sealed casing on the hose.
ANSWER : The little “wash/rinse” switch on some of the Aquamate units shuts off the soap flow by kinking the tube inside the housing. If you leave the switch in the rinse position (therefore, kinked) when you’re done using it, it may dry in the kinked position. Taking apart the top part of the handle where all this mechanism is and cleaning out the tube by soaking it in some warm water for a while and reshaping the kinked part before you reassemble it may help solve this problem.
