To reset the thermostat, press the vacuum`s power button into off position and unplug the vacuum. Check the vacuum for potential causes of overheating, such as clogs or a full dust cup, and allow the vacuum to set and cool off for 30 minutes before turning it back on.
Overheating usually occurs because the dust bag has not been emptied, filter has not been cleaned or there is a blockage in the floor tool, wand or bent hand piece. If your vacuum shuts down unexpectedly, make sure you turn the vacuum off and unplug it from the wall socket.
The air filter traps particles as the air travels through the vacuum cleaner. If the filter is clogged, the vacuum cleaner will not have proper suction. If your vacuum filter is clogged, refer to your owner`s manual for cleaning instructions.
Check that the vacuum cleaner is plugged into a working power outlet and that fuses and breakers don`t need resetting. An activated thermal cut-out due to a blockage is the next most likely cause of the problem. Check for blockages in the hose and filters, and remove any obstructions that you find.
Vacuum cleaners are often designed to turn themselves off if they hit a thermal cut-off point. Basically, if the machine is starting to overheat, there is an automatic system in place to prevent damage to your vacuum or other issues. The most common cause of overheating is blockage.
Durable – Vacuums made by Eureka are known to last for many years, maintaining the same level of quality cleaning power as the day they were first put into use.
Clog located in the vacuum hose

Turn the unit on and feel the suction at the end of the hose handle. If there is no or low suction, then the clog is in the hose. You can remove the clog by running a long, stiff object through the hose, such as a butter knife, starting at the wall end.

Inspect the belt to see if it is broken, stretched out, or out of place. If the drive belt is broken or stretched out, replace it. If the brushroll is sticking, it will cause too much friction and put too much strain on the belt. Remove the brushroll and clean all hair, string, and lint from the brushroll bearings.
Introduction. This guide walks you through removing the Eureka SuctionSeal 2.0 Pet vacuum`s thermal fuse. You may find this guide useful if your vacuum isn`t starting and you have already tried resetting the thermal fuse.
If your vacuum cleaner keeps turning off, this could be due to the following reasons: Blockages – check the hose and head for any obstructions. Filter – always check your filters, if these are clogged this could be causing the vacuum cleaner to work harder and lose suction power.
The most common problems found in vacuum cleaners are low suction force, excessive noise, burning smell, vacuum not turn on, and overheating. These issues can be fixed by either cleaning the device or replacing some parts of the device. At times, it is best to seek a professional to fix the cleaner effectively.
If the filter bag or canister is too full, it cannot pick up any additional particles and will simply jam or the motor will overheat and shut down. So, when you suspect your unit is about 75 per cent full, empty it! Don`t wait until it`s packed to the brim, clean it out and prevent the breakdown.
One of the easiest ways to increase vacuum cleaner suction is to empty the dust bag or container. Dust containers need to have enough space for airflow, otherwise, they could get clogged and have less suction power. Regularly check your dust compartment and empty or change it when it`s already 70-80% full.
A vacuum cleaner can run continuously for 30 – 60 min each time. The vacuum cleaner has no suction power. For example, a hair cannot be sucked up.
The vacuum has a safety feature that turns off the vacuum when the vacuum gets to a certain high temperature or overheats. This happens because the vacuum has a motor protective thermostat. If the vacuum turns off due to overheating, the thermostat has to be reset before you can use it again.
The Dyson is slightly easier to maintain and has no recurring costs, while the Eureka has a HEPA filter that needs replacing on occasion. The Dyson is a bit more maneuverable overall, but its strong suction force can make it harder to move around on carpets.
The bottom line. Many vacuum brands recommend changing the bag before it becomes full, at least every three months. The purpose of changing the vacuum bag when you need to is so that your vacuum cleaner is working at an optimal level.
All cordless vacuums have limited battery life and need to be recharged. On average, you can expect a cordless vacuums` battery to last between 15 to 40 minutes, which is hopefully all it takes to clean your floors or furniture. Once the battery dies, expect to charge it anywhere from 2 to 16 hours.
Batteries don`t last forever depending on age and use. You may need to buy a new battery if your Dyson vacuum is turning on and off after only a few minutes of use.
One of the first things to do when your Dyson vacuum cleaner keeps starting and stopping is to empty the bin. It may be full, or the machine may simply perceive it as too full to continue working. Dyson vacuum cleaners require constant airflow through them to work, and a full bin can stop this from happening.
If all you hear from the vacuum unit is a click at the when you try to start the vacuum motor from inside the house, then the motor in the unit is dead and has to be replaced. A strong odor from the shellac, which coats the copper coil windings, is an indicator that the motor is about to or has burnt out.

The inverter fuse serves two purposes: to protect the inverter and to protect the wire. The only way to protect the wire is to install the fuse as close to the battery as possible. As you may or may not know, not all fuses are equal and there are different fuses for different uses.
VOLTAGE TYPES (VAC / VDC)

This means the fuse can be used in a circuit he voltage maximum operating at this voltage . For example; if your fuse was rated at 250VAC, it could be used in a 250VAC circuit or in a or less lower voltage circuit such as 12VAC, but it must not be used in a circuit operating above 250VAC ie.

My oreck rinse-o-matic vac keep shutting off while i’m cleaning. I cleaned the water out and added new, I checked to see if anything was jammed up at bottom. It keep shutting off??
ANSWER : I had the same problem…kept pushing the reset button on the plug, but continued to shut off. Took it to my local electrician, who removed the plug w/reset and replaced it with a regular plug…works fine now. Must’ve been a short in the reset part…sometimes simpler is better! Cost me $7.00, lots cheaper than a new machine or the $100 repaire quote from oreck!

Why does my dyson slim dc18 keep shutting down, even though i keep it clean. Filters area is clean and all others have been properly blown out with air from a air compressor. It will work for about 5-10 minutes and then shuts down. Smells like ****, check the belt and a bit later it restarts again. It’s seems to be almost over heating.
ANSWER : Maybe your motor is going. Here’s a link to a site that talks about motor failure and replacement in a DC07 (not DC18). I don’t know exactly what the odor smells like but maybe you can see if you have any of the other symptoms. Good luck!

Powerhead Keeps Shutting Off
ANSWER : Open up the power head and check the toothed corners where the power head sits – it sounds like thread has caught up at the sides which can only be removed by opening up the powerhead to clean it.

Keeps shutting off
ANSWER : You cant clean the HEPA filter.. only the blue washable pre filter.

Sounds like the motor is dead or atleast on its way out.

If you visit.http://www.sparesaver.com/help-and-support/dyson-section/dyson-technical-advice-450/.they have alot of info on repairing dyson cleaners AND they sell the.parts, cheapest ive seen online.

I have a eureka power paw that keeps breaking belts. there doesnt seem to be a part that keeps the belt in place
ANSWER : My belt keeps breaking too, but worse is that I can’t find out the size for replacing. Who knows the size I need for the Eureka Power Paw?

My eureka enviro vac shut off and wont turn back on it was clogged but does not smell burnt . is there a reset or some kind of shut off when it gets clogged?
ANSWER : Same thing happened to me. I checked the owner’s manual and it turns out the Eureka Envirovac has a built-in thermal cut-off switch. So anytime the motor gets too hot, it just shuts down. Most of the time this is because it gets plugged or the filter is too dirty. In my case, the dust basket thingy and filter were clogged beyond belief. Probably would help to clean that more regularly in hindsight. Supposedly it will turn back on after the recommended 30 minute wait.

Fully charged, filters cleaned, vacuum keeps shutting down in and then starts again only to shut off again. the 6 minute time limit is not used up.
ANSWER : Your battery is losing voltage too quick. It has probably developed a .’memory’. Dyson claims that their handheld has the best suction out of .all the handhelds out there. In order to maintain that claim the circuit. board will shut off power to the motor when the voltage drops below .adequate charge for full suction.
.We need someone who can teach us to bypass that part of the circuit so .it won’t cut power to the motor or you need to get a new battery.
.Shorting the battery like an Aircraft battery then re-charging won’t fix it.

I have an easy flo vacuum model # 199C and it won’t shut off. It started out as an intermitent problem but now will not shut off when the hose is unplugged, nor when the off/on switch on the main unit is shut off. the only way to get the motor to stop running is to unplug the unit. Any ideas?
ANSWER : Just had this same problem. I unplugged the low voltage signal wires and the vacuum stayed on. Thus eliminating the possibility of the signal wires shorting out somewhere. I’m not really sure which wire(s) were causing the problem. But when I disassembled the top housing to expose the motor and wiring it seemed to work just fine. My theory is that the heat of the motor caused the insulation on a wire to melt which was then shorting somewhere inside the housing. I suggest removing the motor housing before buying any parts or calling easy-flo. If you’re lucky like me then your vacuum should be running again in a matter of minutes.
