Kenmore Canister Vac, Progressive, 25512 255513 model. Brush won’t turn. One end of the brush roller, end closest to belt, is off center which is keeping it from turning freely. The end cap is like a square. Other ends turns fine. Do these end caps come off? If so how? Can’t get it to budge. This is exactly what is keep brush roller from turning.
ANSWER : Take a flat head screw driver and pry the end cap off. It will come off. You might have some string or hair around it causing it to not turn.

Infinity Vaccum by Shark, model number NV31COS, will not start. The vacuum was running just fine until it grabbed the edge of a curtain. Turned it off to release the suction. Floor Attachment I took off my floor attachment, but now the belt seems to be off and I can’t seem to get it back on right. I can’t use the attachment and I don’t know why it’s so hard to figure this out. They say, just turn it to belt off, but when i turn it it lift’s it up and can’t line up with the belt off label. .With the floor nozzle off the machine spin the belt lifter around until the red arrows match. If you look at the side that attaches to the vacuum you should be able to see the belt up on the hook. If is not on the hook offf the machine you will never get the belt on. Once the belt is on the hook attach the floor nozzle to the front of the machine. At this point you need to spin the belt lifter back to where the green arrows match. Oh and another suggestion make sure your hieght adjuster the pedals with arrows are all the way up. I have a roomba 530 pet series. It appears that the brushes aren’t turning. They are free of dirt and debris and move easily when manually turned. But, You can tell there may not be a motor turning, because the roomba is more quiet than normal when you turn it on. Also, the hair just collects along the bottom of the brush and doesn’t get pushed into the bin.

Turns on when I turn the switch all the way off and then back on but when it shuts down it will not turn itself on automatically it will draw water out of the air but only if i turn it on manually.

My Dyson DC07 will not turn on. I was just using it and moved to a new area and plugged it in and it turned on for a split second and then it turned off and now it won’t turn on at all. Any suggestions?
ANSWER : Loose wire, bad switch, or thermal cut-out. In any event, you will have to use a voltmeter to troubleshoot the problem, there is no way of knowing the problem otherwise

My dyson turns on but when i push it to vacuum it makes this awful sound like something got sucked up and caught. i turn it off and turn it over and nothing is stuck. My husband even looked at it and he thinks it’s the belt. The belt doesn’t turn as loose. Please help.
ANSWER : If yours is one of the DC07 models that has a clutch (there’s a knob you can turn, close to the front on the right side – right as you look from behind, that is). Sometimes this problem is cured by simply turning that knob from one extreme to the other a few times. If that doesn’t help, the clutch may need replacing..

Remove the brush bar, pull the bearings off both ends (one at a time, so you know which is which) and clear any entangled hair from the spindle.
