One of the easiest ways to increase vacuum cleaner suction is to empty the dust bag or container. Dust containers need to have enough space for airflow, otherwise, they could get clogged and have less suction power. Regularly check your dust compartment and empty or change it when it`s already 70-80% full.
MADE IN THE USA WITH GLOBALLY SOURCED COMPONENTS.
Without the belt to spin the brushroll, most vacuums won`t pick up on carpeting at all! If your vacuum uses a rubber belt, check it once a month for cracks, melting, and especially, slippage. Rubber belts stretch, even if you never turn on your vacuum, so check frequently, and change it approximately 3 times per year.
Overheating motor causing an automatic shutoff

This is most commonly caused by an air passage that is plugged by hair or dirt. Refer to the leaky hose guide to remove the hose, then inspect for hair or dirt clogs.

How Many Amps Does a Vacuum Cleaner Use? An effective vacuum cleaners use high-quality motors that provide sufficient suction and generate from 3.5 to 8 amps of current.
Corded vacuum cleaners typically have a wattage of between 350W to 900W.
Most universal outlets found in households have a standard voltage of 120. Therefore, most vacuum cleaners are designed to handle 120 volts. If you find an upright or canister vacuum with a voltage rating lower than 120, it is not going to work with your inlet.
What is a Good Suction Power for a Vacuum Cleaner? An upright cordless vacuum cleaner should have at least 100 air watts to effectively clean a variety of floor surfaces, with the best Samsung vacuum cleaner reaching up to 210W*.
So a 1000W vacuum cleaner will use 1 kilowatt (1000 Watts) of electricity in 1 hour. The point here is that it is a consumption measurement, rather than a power output measurement… it tells you nothing about suction. If you want to use more electricity, then use a vacuum cleaner with higher wattage.
The two main indicators to determine vacuum power performance are water lift and airflow. The water lift is measured in mmH2O, mbar or kPa. It represents the suction force and is the reference parameter for vacuuming liquids and heavy materials. The airflow is measured in m3/h or in l/s.
The Hoover® WindTunnel Cord Rewind Pro is ideal for Whole Home Cleaning from floor to ceiling and delivers powerful performance on every surface. WindTunnel technology and Multi-Cyclonic filtration lifts and removes surface debris and deep down embedded dirt with no loss of suction.
Great option for a vacuum cleaner for around $100. It has a retractable cord, extendable hose with attachments, and different settings for the type of floor.
The HEPA filter is located under the dirt cup and under where it says HEPA. Twist the top counterclockwise to unlock the cap.
This isn`t helped by Hoover themselves being reluctant to admit where their manufacturing plants are located. As far as we can tell, Hoover products are designed and engineered in the USA. However, assembly for most (if not all) of their vacuums takes place in China.
When you use a vacuum cleaner without a HEPA filter, these particles are stirred up and put back out into the air through your vacuum`s exhaust. Regular filters can`t remove these harmful particulates and this puts the people in your home at risk.
Package of (1) 38528-034 roller brush belt and (1) 38528-035 power drive belt for Hoover WindTunnel models with the self-propelled feature. Replace these belts every 6 months to ensure optimum performance.
What is the weight of the vacuum? The full weight of the vacuum is 14 lbs.
Check the Rotator Brush and Wheels

Sometimes pieces of string or other objects get wrapped around your vacuum`s rotating brush or around the wheels of the vacuum. Unplug your vacuum. Turn it over and have a look at the wheels and brush. If you see any pieces of string or objects lodged there, remove them.

If your vacuum cleaner keeps turning off, this could be due to the following reasons: Blockages – check the hose and head for any obstructions. Filter – always check your filters, if these are clogged this could be causing the vacuum cleaner to work harder and lose suction power.
Blockages or dirty filters may cause this to happen, the safety cut off will activate and switch off the electrical supply. If the cleaner has cut out, simply unplug and check for a blockage or dirty filters.
Clear out hoses, attachments, and brushes of any hair, dirt, and debris. This will allow for restored airflow and should get things going again. Make sure there are no cracks or broken belts impeding the system from running optimally.
If all you hear from the vacuum unit is a click at the when you try to start the vacuum motor from inside the house, then the motor in the unit is dead and has to be replaced. A strong odor from the shellac, which coats the copper coil windings, is an indicator that the motor is about to or has burnt out.

I purchased a brand new Eureka Pet vacuum, sorry don’t know exact name but it the one that has the self cleaning duster on it. Last night I used the vacuum on my carpet, it was working fine until I accidently sucked up the corner of a scarf that was hanging off a couch. I shut the vacuum off, pulled out the scarf and and resumed vacuuming. Much to my dismay the suction on the vacuum had ceased. Can you tell me if there is a reset button on the vacuum? The vacuum does not appear to be damage
ANSWER : If the motor is running, there should be suction. Possible problems depend on whether it’s a canister or upright and are:
.A clog in the hose, UR or canister. Detach hose. Drop small coin in one end and lift hose causing it to roll out the other. If it does, no clog in hose. Drop same coin into hose opening on power head. If it rolls out, no clog in PN.
.Broken fan blades, UR. Needs to be taken to shop for repair/replacement.
.
.A reset button is for use if the motor isn’t running, so won’t have anything to do with the suction.

ANSWER : Hello,
First check the cord to make sure you have continunity throw both leads, check.them at the cord reel, there are 2 wires hooked up to it, if not then.the cord is bad. Check the swith also, the next cause would be the.speen control mounted on the motor, part #04416342, sells for around.$85. If your motor checks ok, then it most likely the speed control,.they go out quite often…Thank you

My home has a central vacuum system hook-up but no vacuum installed. My friend upgraded his central system and gave me his Eureka Mega Boss central vacuum system and the accessories, including the pow
ANSWER : The power head requires 120 Volts. Some hoses have a receptacle in the handle for the power head plug, and the hose has a cord at the wall inlet end that plugs into a receptacle. Some hoses have a plug at the wall inlet end that plugs into a 120Volt receptacle built into the inlet. The hose plugs into this receptacle when you push the hose into the inlet. The power for this built-in receptacle is wired with line voltage when the system is installed.

How to replace power cord on Hoover WindTunnel upright vacuum
ANSWER : The aforementioned solutions probably never even attempted this fix on this model. The handle does NOT need to come off. but the 5 screws on the front housing DO: 2 above the light and 3 below it. Then to get the colored housing off you need to access 2 screws on the underside that are beneath the agitator roller. To do that, obviously the 4 screws holding the bottom plate need to come off too. Here’s a link to a schematic that might help as you attempt to do this, (assuming that you still do!) http://www.elkypro.com/hoops2005/vacuum_parts/hoover/U5461-900.html

Once you have the main body housing cover off, then you can access the 2 screws atop of each trunnion cover that holds the motor assembly cover halves together. If you’ve made it this far, then gently pry apart the motor halves keeping even as yo do. Now you can see all the wiring necessary to cut and splice. Happy cord replacing! As for me, I am headed for the store, as I am not so sure I can remember how to get the darn thing put back together. But it was fun taking it apart!
