a wire out of its wire nut by the sweeper bar. If I had a diagram it would be no problem to replace. The bad has four short gray wires coming out of it. It is one of the gray wires that has come loose.
How to Identify and Fix Common Vacuum Problems ?
Our sources include academic articles, blog posts, and personal essays from experienced Vacuum Technicians :
Check service panel for tripped breakers/blown fuses. If breaker is tripped, reset it. If fuse is blown, replace it. If vacuum cleaner is plugged in, be sure power button is in the off position before resetting breaker/changing fuse.
Looking at the wiring diagram (stuck way on the side) there is a standard fuse ! That hot wire directly from the power cord goes to a fuse. I (carefully) cut off the black shrink wrapping, check the continuity and zip.
The Vacuum Connector was designed by a cabinetmaker specifically for the Blum Minipress. It slides onto the depth stops and can attach to a standard shop vac hose with an outer diameter of 2.25”. It makes routing hinge cups easy with no mess to clean up. Every unit is made to order on our 3-D printer.
This vertical vacuum takeoff adapter is used to add a vacuum line to a set up which did not previously have one. The adapter has an upper and lower joint size of 24/40. The threaded side joint is a GL-14 port, used for vacuum. Vertical vacuum takeoff adapters have a wide variety of uses in the industry.
Kenmore model numbers typically include a three-digit prefix followed by a dot and a series of numbers that represent the specific appliance model. The prefix can help identify the manufacturer of the appliance.
To locate your product`s model number, simply find the product`s label showing UL listing information and electrical specifications. The model number is clearly marked and printed there. This label is normally on the back of the product.
The model number as well as the serial number to your WORKSHOP Wet/Dry Vac can be found on the serial label. This label is placed in a different location depending on the model, however most will be found on the power head. To the left there is a close-up example of a serial label.
One of the primary signs of a vacuum leak is sporadic idling. You might notice that your engine is idling fast while you are at a stop, particularly if your tachometer is bouncing up and down or resting at a setting that is too high. The sporadic idling is being caused by too much air in the engine.

Replacing Power Cord Kenmore Progressive Upright
That actually sounds correct, if it’s the model I’m thinking of. As long as you’re talking about connecting to the wires that are held in by the wire nuts you should be good to go.

I am looking for a wiring diagram to install a touch/dimmer switch by “Comfort” mdl # RH-934B – Darjung Ind Ltd.
It has a standard lampcord (two wires) coming from it as well as one white, one black and one yellow wire.
The original touch/dimmer switch (no identification on it) had one white, one black, one red and one yellow – no lampcord.
Thank you very much for your help!
The black and the white will go to the lamp ,eg,output. The yellow is the sensor wire which should be firmly attached to the metal base of the lamp
Unbeknownst to me, someone took the bag out of my Kenmore Progressive vacuum and failed to replace it. I have been vacuuming without a bag for months, and today the vacuum stopped sucking. When I opened up the front to replace the bag, tons of dirt and dust came pouring out. I thoroughly cleaned the vacuum, put in a new bag, but still no sucking power. Just dust coming from the rear vents where one of the filters is. Is the vacuum ruined, or is it a simple solution of buying a new filter?
Sounds like you need to buy a new motor. All that grit and dust will ruin a motor and I’m surprised it lasted as long as it did.
.This is where a vacuum that won’t run without a bag would have been nice. (Aerus for one)
Bosch canister vac BSG81313. Took cover off to remove lots of hair, dirt etc from running without bag in place. Everything went back together OK, but cord reel spring went zip when cover was removed. How do I rewind the spring so there is tension when the cord is pulled out ? Wound cord back onto reel, but reel just clicks ever revolution etc…no tension when cord is pulled out of vac.
The spring inside the hub of the cord wheel has escaped from the locking tab. You must completely dismantle the vacuum to access the cord wheel – take it out, reattach the spring and reassemble the unit. All you need is a phillips screwdriver, a pair of pliers and some patience.
The original belt on my upright Kenmore Progressive broke and I replaced it with the spare that was in the vacuum. The vacuum and spare belt are about 10 years old. Then the spare broke after one vacuuming session and there was a burning smell coming from the vacuum. I ordered new belts and replaced it with the new belt. It seems to be working fine with no smell. I checked the belt after I vacuumed the family room and although it was in tact, the belt was very hot. Is that normal? Should t
The belt heats up due to the friction, as well as being in contact with the shaft of a hot motor. It is normal.
I have a Kirby G4 Vacuum Cleaner – MOdel G4 D. I have never had any problems or repairs done to it in the past ten plus years that I’ve had it. This is an upright vacuum. I was vacuuming the carpet floor and was not having any trouble at all. I switched the vacuum off and moved it into a different room. When I tried to turn on the vacuum, it would not turn on. I checked with different outlets, used both front attachment and hose attachment. Checked the front part of the motor/ spiral case. This
I had the vacuum cleaner question about the canister and the wand/powerhead… the Kenmore Progressive Vacuum canister model 116.25812 and the canister not powering off without unplugging the vacuum. The solution I received that they both run on their own switch so it is normal makes sense. However, is there a power switch on the canister anywhere? The only way for the canister to be turned off is by unplugging it. Any ideas? One would think there would be a switch. I am new to fixya and hope
Hi. On some models, one switch controls all of the power. Your issue, which is no working switch is almost certainly a blown triac on the circuit board in the canister – kenmore part number KC86WBZRZ000
Looks like a common fault with this particular model judging by the number of complaints on the web.
.Take it to your local vacuum repair shop and they should be able to fix it for a nominal fee.
