The nicest thing about the Hoover FloorMate is that it can do all the things you would need an upright cleaner do for a hard floor. The first setting is the vacuum. It cleans up dirt and debris on your floor.
The most common cause of loss of suction is that the filters have become blocked. They may require cleaning or replacing. Another cause could be that the vacuum cleaner hose is blocked.
Instead of using a vacuum bag, a wet and dry vacuum cleaner uses two bucket system for separating dry and wet waste. The collection chamber, and motor unit, and are the main parts of a wet and dry vacuum cleaner. The motor of the vacuum cleaner is situated on top of the collection chamber.
However, the basic rule of thumb is that carpeted floors and rugs should be vacuumed at least twice weekly and hard surface floors like tile, hardwood, laminate, and vinyl should be vacuumed at least once per week.
Operating the FloorMate

Before you wash the floors, you have to vacuum or sweep a little. After that I just turned the knob to Wash & Dry and went at it in my kitchen. On this setting you push the FloorMate to wash the floors and pull to dry the floors.

Don`t Vacuum Liquids

Dry Vacuum cleaners should clean dirt particles from carpets and floorings, not pick water and other liquids. If you run your vacuum over water, remember you are running the danger of electrocution and causing damage to your machine. This occurs when emptying the bin.

Not only will the best vacuum-mop combo save you time and effort, it will leave your floors cleaner than a standard mop. Traditional mops actually push dirty water around on your floors, which leaves them anything but truly clean.
The simple answer is that you should never use your vacuum cleaner on wet carpet. In fact, you should never use it to clean anything that`s even slightly damp. Regular vacuum cleaners are electrical devices that are not designed for fluids.
Check your hose for any cracks or holes that can cause loss of suction. You may also have a clog in the lower hose. Pull down and at an angle to disconnect. A clog in the main hose could also be the problem.

ANSWER : .Vacuuming Liquids
.1. When picking up small amounts of liquid
.the filter may be left in place.
.2. When picking up large amounts of liquid
.we recommend that the filter be
.removed. If the filter is not removed, it
.will become saturated and misting
.may appear in the exhaust.
.3. After using the vac to pick up liquids,
.the filter must be dried to reduce the
.risk of possible mildew and damage to
.the filter.
.4. When the liquid in the drum reaches a
.predetermined level, the float mechanism
.will rise automatically to cut off
.airflow. When this happens, turn off
.the vac, unplug the power cord, and
.empty the drum. You will know that the
.float has risen because vac airflow
.ceases and the motor noise will
.become higher in pitch, due to

.IMPORTANT: To reduce the risk of damage
.to the vac do not run motor with float

My floormate isn't picking up the wet water – Hoover Floormate H3000 Upright Wet/Dry Vacuum
ANSWER : I have had same problem. Had to remove both clean fluid container and dirty fluid container. Had to put clean container in first then tilt back the unit using release pedal located bottom left. Then replace the dirty fluid collection container. They are difficult to snap into place at times. Make sure that there is not a gap in plastic seam where containers meet the unit. I have had to apply firm pressure to front of fluid containers to force them to snap into place

The Hoover Steamvac Widepath will NOT pick up water. The dispenser with cleaner DOES have water. The TANK that would receive the dirty water is NOT full. All tanks are on properly and the machine will still not pick up the used water. I found a tear in the interior hose leading to the receiving tank and repaired throughly with electrical tape. Still will not pick up the water. Any suggestions?
ANSWER : Sounds like a clogged air path (no vacuum action) from the floor pick-up to the collection tank. Take the tanks off and deal with the vacuum problem alone. The collection tank should have a air exit vent–is it clear? Check the interior hose that you repaired–is it clogged? Remove the bottom plate and inspect the air path from it. Because this machine deals with water, clogs can become like concrete! Hope this helps!

ANSWER : Have you made sure the plastic filter cover with the round hole in it that covers the filter is in place ( part # 59177096 ). This piece seems to get lost, and without it there is no pick-up. The other common problem is that the wheel assembly has been damaged. Look at the bottom of the Floormate. You will see a black plastic wheel assembly. There are two pegs at the rear attaching it to the base. If this piece has a crack in it where it attaches to the base, there will be no pick-up.
