How to Identify and Fix Common Vacuum Problems ?
Our sources include academic articles, blog posts, and personal essays from experienced Vacuum Technicians :
If your vacuum was working fine and then suddenly shut off, it may have overheated. Most vacuums are equipped with a thermal protector safety switch that won`t allow the motor to run when it becomes overheated. You will need to wait for 30 minutes to 2 hours, depending on your machine, to try again.
Plugged vacuum hoses are sometimes the reason for a loss in suction. Hoses can get clogged with hair, dust bunnies, string, or anything else that can`t pass through the other end of the hose. Airways inside the machine should be looked at as well. Wherever there is an air passage, check it.
A vacuum cleaner that is in good working order should have excellent suction and be able to clean up everyday dust and debris from around your home with ease. If you notice that your vacuum is starting to lose suction, it could be a sign that you are due for a replacement.

.. All SE series vacuums have a built in thermal and load fuse on the motor, and if it blew, it has to be replaced, or wired directly, with out it on there..
Motor brushes are usually the source of a non working Rainbow D4 and SE and all model Rainbow vacuums and when they burn out, they usually take the motor armature with them, from excessive heat and flare electrical arking to the armature.. .It is probably the thermal and load fuse, that is your problem, if you did not smell any electric burning type of smell, before it quit. It could be the power switch, but not as likely as the fuse.. .If you have any more questions let me know. I am a Rainbow seller, and a Rainbow expert also.

.If it doesn’t have any power then its an issue with the power board of your rainbow vacuum or the motor. You’ll need to disassemble the vacuum to look for any loose connections or burnt components. If everything inside the vacuum looks fine then check for input power coming to the vacuum and to the control board. If the power is there then the motor has gone bad else the control board is faulty and you’ll need to replace it. You can buy the parts for your Rainbow Vacuum from this link—

.Check the terminals where the wand connects to the PN. If any are discolored or cracked, that may be the problem.
.Open the PN and check for loose or broken wires and connections. Repair or replace as necessary.
.The reset switch could be broken or worn out. You can check this with a continuity tester or multimeter.
.If none of these solve the problem the vacuum needs to be taken to your local Aerus Electrolux store for diagnosis and repair.
