Belt powerfully rotates the brusher bars in your upright vacuum. For optimum performance, change the belt at least every 12 months.
If the brushroll is sticking, it will cause too much friction and put too much strain on the belt. Remove the brushroll and clean all hair, string, and lint from the brushroll bearings. If the vacuum cleaner brush still doesn`t spin after you clean the brushroll, consider replacing the brushroll.

The engine drive belt is located on the front of your engine and is used to rotate the engine accessories. The belt is driven by the engine crankshaft, and while the engine is running, the belt turns with the crankshaft, which in turn rotates any pulley that the belt wraps around.
Yes, you need to replace them but, depending on your vehicle, the manufacturer might replace them for you. Some makes and models have a lifetime seat-belt warranty, so I`d recommend checking the warranty information in your owner`s manual.
Vacuum belts work to spin a vacuum`s brush roller and/or, on some self-propelled models, to turn a vacuum`s wheels. Whatever the style of vacuum, this repair will take placein the machine`s brushroll area.
Our Verdict On Eureka Vacuum Reviews

Eureka vacuum cleaners are one of the most popular brands based on consumer reviews. Their 4870 Boss upright vacuum cleaner has been getting rave reviews based on its performance, maneuverability and durability.

Often, a belt breaks because the machine is running over the edge of a rug or other thick items, perhaps even the vacuum cord. This causes “snagging.” When this happens, the belt becomes stuck and usually overheats. Unfortunately, this results in immediate breakage.
Vacuum cleaners are fairly simple machines. They need power to be transmitted to the vacuum to create a suction force that lifts debris. So, the usual areas that cause suction loss include the wrong height setting, stuck rollers, a faulty gasket, a broken vacuum belt, a filled bag, or a clogged hose.
V-belt cross sections can be identified by their top width and depth dimensions. For example, a v-belt with a top width of 21/32” and a depth of 7/16” is a “B” belt. You can also use our Browning Belt Rule that includes a gauge to help easily identify belt type.
Serpentine belt replacement is easy because today`s automatic drive belt tensioners eliminate the need to loosen bolts or pry components into position for retensioning. Just rotate the tensioner, remove the old belt and install a new one.
How to measure the belt: You will notice that all V belts also sometimes referred to as wedge shaped belts are measured across the top think section and the depth of the belt. This means you would measure the widest part of the belt (thick section) and then from the widest part to the narrowest part of the belt.
It is often beneficial to change the drive belts in your car approximately every 60,000 to 100,000 miles. By undergoing annual car inspections, you can have your drive belts evaluated. If any signs of damage or severe wear and tear are identified, the belts can be replaced.
A drive belt is usually tightened or slackened by means of an adjustable pivot where the generator is mounted on the engine.

Before you spend your time trying to go back over the same areas, hoping you`ll get it all cleaned up the second time around, check out your brush roll and belt. If you`ve cleaned your brush of any sticky stuff and hair, and it all looks fine, you`re likely dealing with a stretched belt.

The original belt on my upright Kenmore Progressive broke and I replaced it with the spare that was in the vacuum. The vacuum and spare belt are about 10 years old. Then the spare broke after one vacuuming session and there was a burning smell coming from the vacuum. I ordered new belts and replaced it with the new belt. It seems to be working fine with no smell. I checked the belt after I vacuumed the family room and although it was in tact, the belt was very hot. Is that normal? Should t

How do I change the belt on Eureka Pet Pal – Eureka 3276AZ Pet Lover Bagless Upright Vacuum
ANSWER : Unlike most vacuums, this one the screws are on the top of your base. There are two screws one on each side. When looking at the front of the vacuum right side screw is located above the s in 12amps and on the left side screw is located above the p in pet. Now keep in mind it’s not directly above the letters look about 2 inches up. Unscrew them, take cover off. Once you have done that pull up on the brush rod. Maybe tough if ur vacuum has a lot of built up dirt. Next put belt on metal prong then put on brush rod. Place rod back in its spot, gonna need little bit of muscle. Then put top back on and replace screws. Plug in flip bottom just to make sure brush is spinning. If u have followed steps this should work. I hope this helped took me forever to find the screws because I have always had vacuum with them on the bottom and internet was no help to me. Good luck

I purchased a brand new Eureka Pet vacuum, sorry don’t know exact name but it the one that has the self cleaning duster on it. Last night I used the vacuum on my carpet, it was working fine until I accidently sucked up the corner of a scarf that was hanging off a couch. I shut the vacuum off, pulled out the scarf and and resumed vacuuming. Much to my dismay the suction on the vacuum had ceased. Can you tell me if there is a reset button on the vacuum? The vacuum does not appear to be damage
ANSWER : If the motor is running, there should be suction. Possible problems depend on whether it’s a canister or upright and are:
.A clog in the hose, UR or canister. Detach hose. Drop small coin in one end and lift hose causing it to roll out the other. If it does, no clog in hose. Drop same coin into hose opening on power head. If it rolls out, no clog in PN.
.Broken fan blades, UR. Needs to be taken to shop for repair/replacement.
.
.A reset button is for use if the motor isn’t running, so won’t have anything to do with the suction.

How do I change the belt – Eureka 3276AZ Pet Lover Bagless Upright Vacuum
ANSWER : You need to flip it over and get access to the bottom of the machine. Then you need to remove screws that are holding the cover on. there may be little tiny arrows in the plastic pointing to the screws and if so you will know that these are the screws to remove. Once you get the cover off you will see the roller bar and the little motor with a steel shaft sticking out ; this is the shaft that the belt goes on to. The old belt will often be sitting right where it broke and that is right where you install the new belt . you will need to pull up on the roller bar to get the belt around the end of it . Once you put the roller bar back down in to position you can take your screwdriver and put it through the belt and pull it back so you can slide it over the shaft.. Now the belt is new and has not been stretched so it may take you a couple of times to get it on . Do not get discouraged it will go on if you have the correct belt. Once the belt is back on you can put the cover back on and you are off to the races….Good luck

Smoking belt Hey I have a Eureka 2961 avz bagless vacuum, and if it’s on for a few minutes i can smell the belt burning.  If the vacuum is left on any longer the belt starts smoking.  I took the case off and there was a little debris but not much.  Is there a cause and fix or just time to replace the belt?

Dirt devil vacuum cleaner–trouble vacuuming dirt and pet hair on carpeting –is the problem with the spinning brush which contacts the floor,  not contacting the carpeting??  I thought (when I bought this vacuum) that the aforementioned brush was adjustable to various heights of carpeting.  Sometimes, it seems like nothing is being vacuumed up –unless I have just put a new bag on the vacuum… Do I need or can I replace the spinning brush on the bottom of the vacuum so it kicks up and vacuums
