Without the bag the fine dust will go through the filter and blow back into your room. Vac with a HEPA cartridge filter: You do not need a collection bag. Vac with a foam sleeve: Some of our smaller vacs come with a foam sleeve and a collection bag. For these vacs, you must use the collection bag with the foam sleeve.
The bottom line is that Shop-Vac units shouldn`t be utilized without a filter. The vacuum will work without one, but it might not work better. Numerous other consequences might occur. You may create an even bigger mess than the one you needed to clean.
Remove the shop vac motor from the base. Take the hose out of the vacuum port on the shop vac. Insert the hose in the exhaust port of the shop vac. Turn the shop vac on, and use the hose as a blower.
Initially, shop vacs were mostly used for industrial purposes. Nowadays, they are more customized with added features. Hence, they can also act as household items. On the other hand, home vacuums are only used in households and cannot be utilized for industrial purposes.
Luckily, your Shop-Vac makes cleaning up camping equipment a breeze. Vacuum pine needles, sand, leaves, cobwebs, and whatever other debris makes its way into your tent with a Shop-Vac.
Power. Most people should only require a 3.5 to 5 peak horsepower motor for their wet/dry vac. If it can suction up water and sawdust, you`re probably good to go.

When you use a vacuum cleaner without a HEPA filter, these particles are stirred up and put back out into the air through your vacuum`s exhaust. Regular filters can`t remove these harmful particulates and this puts the people in your home at risk.
1.1 Duty Cycle

As a rule, most of the smaller canister or shop-type vacs use high-speed vacuum producers. These tend to run at a very high rpm, which can reduce the vacuum`s lifespan to as little as 800 hours — or about 18 months, assuming you use your vacuum for about three hours each day.

To avoid a mess when emptying your shop vacuum, line the vacuum tank with a large plastic trash bag. Fold the bag over the tank rim so the top holds the bag in place. If you vacuum mostly dry debris, a pleated paper cartridge provides more surface area for dust, reducing the number of filter cleanings.
This RIDGID drain adaptor adapts your shop vac to drain into a garden hose for liquid disposal, providing a convenient water removal from the vacuum drum with no lifting required. This item adapts to all RIDGID wet dry vacs with a drain port.

Need new switch for Shopvac QSP Pro 10 gallon unit
ANSWER : I just went through the same problem with a Shop Vac. The switch is easy to replace but not easy to find. After removing the switch, I found a match made by Sigma Switches. They directed me to contact a local RV dealer and look in either their Coast Supply or Stag/Parkway Supply catalogs for the appropriate switch (an H2-28 in my case for a QPL45 Shop Vac). After ordering the switch and $5 later, it snaps in like the original with no problems. Certainly beats $70 for a whole new motor assembly.

On/Off Switch works sporadically. Took handle apart and the switch worked for a while. I am wondering if I need to replace the switch?

Also the Brush Switch is having similar problems.

ANSWER : Might not be the switch there is a connection on the swivel by the base that likes to fail

We have a dyson dc 07 animal the machine was working fine then switched off after returning to the machine minutes later it wouldnt switch on, i removed on off switch cover and used a short piece of wire across the brown wires flicked the wall switch and it worked, aha i thought faulty switch aquired a new one to no avail and now even the short piece of wire trick doesnt work, has the motor died do you think, it wasnt over heating or making strange noises prior to refusing to work
ANSWER : It could be the motor. I’m having to replace the brushes on my DC 05. It appears that you can only get brushes for the YDK motors in the DYSON, not the Panasonic motor. Which might be saying something about the YDK motors. What happens is that the carbon brushes wear down which is normal. However, the contact wire from the brush to its connector is set so that when the brush wears down, the wire is short enough to stop the spring etc from damaging the commutator. The end result is that you get an intermittent operation of the motor before it finally dies.
.I believe all the DYSONs come with the option of both motors and you cannot really tell which motor you have until you take the thing to bits. You also cannot change motors without changing various other parts on the hoover. On my DC 05 the writing on the YDK motor tells you which one it is.
.This website www. tasweb.org ,select the DC 05 option and scroll down tells you how to take the thing to bits. A search on google etc for your DC 07 may give similar results. Best of luck!

Hoover Windtunnel On/Off switch will not turn Off…Switch seems to work O.K. when pressed directly but not with handle switch…It will turn on but not off..Cam seems to be intact on switch actuator..How does switch come out? Thanx
ANSWER : Take the handle off, then remove the tool holder, then you can get to the switch. Just has tabs on each side of switch, depress them and push it out. These switches will do this after awhile, replacing them is usually the way to correct the problem.

Altrev,

I have an ODC325 Black&Decker spacemaker coffeemaker on my boat and it stopped working this weekend although the hot plate still gets hot. I suspect it is the thermal switch as you described (I hear a click when I switch the machine on but nothing happens and the heating element does not kick in). I would be very happy to receive one or two of these 14 spare switches you mention so I can repair the unit. If still available I would appreciate hearing from you how we can do the transact

ANSWER : We don’t sell parts individually on the site here…. was it some other solution for another person you saw about the switch? I don’t believe there really is a part called a thermal switch… there is a thermal fuse but if the hotplate gets hot I would think the thermal fuse is fine..
.Please give me more info here and I can help.
.Thanks.Tim
