How to Identify and Fix Common Vacuum Problems ?

The Cleaning Nozzle is clogged

Calcium and other minerals may build up in the nozzle, so you may need to clean the nozzle in order to produce steam. To do this, either use the nozzle cleaner provided with the Steam Pocket Mop, or use a straightened-out paper clip.

To prolong the life of your steam mop, we recommend using distilled water in the tank. Make sure you only add water to the tank – chemicals or cleaning solutions (including vinegar) may damage the steam mop and could be unsafe. For best results, sweep or vacuum your floors prior to cleaning with your steam mop.
Heating Element. A common cause to your cleaner not producing steam can be a failed heating element. As the heater is used to heat up the water, if that has ruptured or burnt out your steam cleaner will not produce any steam. With the water tank filled and switched on the steamer should sound like a boiling kettle.
The Shark Pocket steam mop cleans through one main method; steam being pressed out through the cleaning pad. The cleaning process is quite simple: Fill water tank with distilled water. Plug the unit in and give it 30 seconds to heat up.
First, attach the mop pad to the mophead, then fill the reservoir with water using the filling flask. Once the steam mop is plugged in, it takes about 20 seconds for the steam to build up, and you`ll hear the mop hissing. During the first use, I found that I had to pump the handle a few times to prime the steam pump.
Only Use Water in the Reservoir

With the exception of a few models that have dual functions, steam mops are typically designed to be used with water and nothing else. The steam alone does a great job of cleaning the floor. Always read the manual on your mop model thoroughly for complete use guidelines.

Another tip: According to top brands like Bissell and Shark, you should use distilled or demineralized water to prolong the life of your steam mop.
Unless the manufacturer says otherwise, it`s generally fine to use tap water in your steam cleaner. Just note that tap water contains minerals that can build up over time, particularly if you have hard water—but you can help curb this buildup by regularly cleaning your machine or using distilled water instead.
Tap water contains minerals that can clog the steamer. Empty the water reservoir between steaming sessions. This is especially important for travel and handheld steamers. Dry components with a towel or air-dry before storing the steamer.

Shark steam pocket mop little or no steam. – Euro-Pro Shark Steam Mop – Gray/ Purple Vacuum
ANSWER : Heatman101’s (D. Floyd Kolb) solution is what i had used in the past with success using a paper clip to punch out the hard water deposit. however recently after about 2 years of owning the steam mop, the fix would only last a couple minutes. tonight, i had to open it 4 times cuz it kept getting clogged (each time I’d more vigorously try to scrape a larger opening). the final time i used some vinegar on the paperclip and i poured some into the entryway as well. the steam mop worked perfectly for the rest of the rooms in my house with a lot of steam coming out. not sure when it’ll clog again though.
